Social engagement signals monitor LinkedIn posts for likes and comments so your team can see when prospects engage with people or companies you care about. FirstTouch can monitor both LinkedIn person profiles and LinkedIn company pages.
Engagement is pulled daily. Latest likes and comments can take 24+ hours to appear.

Why Social Engagement Matters

Social engagement is one of the strongest signals that a prospect knows who you are. If a prospect engages with a post, it means:
  • they have seen your face, brand, or company
  • they read what you wrote
  • they liked, disliked, or cared enough to engage
Assuming the engagement was positive, the time right after they engage is often an ideal moment to reach out.

Signal Allowance

Your team’s monitoring allowance is based on paid seats.
  • Each paid seat gives the team 5 social signal URLs.
  • Social signal URLs can be LinkedIn person profiles or LinkedIn company pages.
  • The drawer shows how many LinkedIn profiles or company pages your team can monitor based on your paid seats.
Captured engagements use credits. The Social engagement drawer shows the current credit behavior for your workspace.

Add A LinkedIn Profile Or Company Page

1

Open Signals

In FirstTouch, go to https://app.firsttouch.ai/signals.
2

Open Social engagement

Select the Social engagement signal to open the right-side configuration drawer.
3

Paste the LinkedIn URL

In LinkedIn profiles or company pages to monitor, paste a LinkedIn person profile URL or company page URL.
4

Add the URL

Click Add URL. FirstTouch adds the URL to the monitored profiles list when it can be connected.
Use a full LinkedIn profile or company page URL. For example, use /in/profile-name/ for a person profile and /company/company-name/ for a company page.

What The Configuration Drawer Shows

The Social engagement right drawer is where you manage monitored LinkedIn URLs. It shows:
  • an input for LinkedIn profiles or company pages to monitor
  • the Add URL button
  • your monitored profile and company page count
  • the connection status for each monitored URL
  • the last updated time for each monitored URL
  • whether FirstTouch has new signals for that URL
  • a menu for URL-level actions
Click a monitored URL to view the engagements FirstTouch captured for that profile or company page.

View Engagement Details

When you open a monitored URL, FirstTouch shows the details page for that LinkedIn profile or company page. The details view includes:
  • the monitored LinkedIn URL
  • connection status
  • last updated time
  • signal status, such as No new signals
  • a delete action for removing the monitored URL
  • an Engagements tab with captured likes and comments
  • a Unique engagers tab for de-duplicated people
  • an Export CSV action
The engagements table shows the contact, their role and company when available, and the engagement detail. Engagement details can include:
  • Like
  • Comment
  • Open post links so you can review the post context before reaching out
Review the original post before acting on a signal. A like on a product launch, event post, or customer story can suggest a different follow-up than a comment on a general thought-leadership post.

HubSpot App Events

Social engagement signals are integrated with HubSpot app events. When FirstTouch captures a social engagement signal for a known contact, the event can appear in HubSpot so your team can use it alongside other contact activity. Use HubSpot app events to:
  • see social engagement context on the contact timeline
  • trigger HubSpot workflows from captured engagement activity
  • help sales teams prioritize follow-up based on recent LinkedIn engagement
HubSpot event availability depends on your workspace’s HubSpot integration and contact matching.

Outreach Plays

Use social engagement signals when recent LinkedIn activity creates a relevant reason to reach out.

Re-Start A Stalled Deal

If a deal has been stalled for months, follow up after the prospect engages with a post. Use the engagement as a warm reason to send a LinkedIn DM, email, or task for the account owner.

Drive Event Registration

If you are promoting an event, monitor the profile or company page posting about it. Send a DM to people who engaged with the event post but have not registered yet.

Break Into A Target Account

If you are trying to reach a new account, send connection requests to relevant employees first. When someone from that account engages with a monitored post, use that engagement as the timing signal for your first direct follow-up.

Best Practices

  • Monitor the people and company pages most likely to attract your target buyers.
  • Prioritize posts tied to launches, events, hiring, funding, category pain, or customer proof.
  • Treat likes and comments as timing signals, not automatic proof of buying intent.
  • Check the post context before sending outreach.
  • Keep monitored URLs current as campaigns, reps, and target accounts change.

Troubleshooting

  • If a URL does not connect, confirm it is a LinkedIn person profile or company page URL.
  • If no new signals appear, wait for the next daily pull and check again after 24+ hours.
  • If a known engager is missing from HubSpot, confirm HubSpot is connected and the LinkedIn engager can be matched to a HubSpot contact.
  • If your team reaches the monitoring limit, remove old monitored URLs or add paid seats to increase the allowance.
