This guide covers the essentials. For deep dives, check out the Chrome Extension and Web App sections.

Install the Chrome Extension

First Touch works where you work. The extension allows you to research, write, and take action directly on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and company websites.Where it appears: On supported pages (like a LinkedIn profile), the First Touch sidebar will slide in automatically.
Pro Tip: Pin the First Touch icon in your browser toolbar so you can easily open the sidebar if it doesn’t appear automatically.

Configure Your Knowledge Base

Your Knowledge Base is the “brain” that powers non-generic outreach. Go to Settings > Knowledge Base to define:
  • What You Sell: A concise description of your product.
  • Who You Sell To: Your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), industries, and roles.
  • Case Studies: Proof points or success stories the AI can reference.
Why this matters: Accurate inputs here prevent “spammy” AI messages. You can update this at any time to refine future messages.

Connect Your CRM

Sync data bi-directionally to streamline your workflow. Currently, we support HubSpot CRM.
  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click Connect HubSpot and authorize the connection.
  3. Look for the green Connected indicator.
The FT UI card allows you to access First Touch directly inside a HubSpot contact record. Use this to approve flows and view research without leaving your CRM.

Invite Your Team

First Touch works best when your whole team is aligned.
  1. Have teammates install the Chrome Extension.
  2. They must sign up using their work email.
  3. Verify they appear in the Team Management section of the web app.
Critical: Ensure each teammate connects their own email account (under Settings > Email Accounts) so they can be added to flows and have their activity tracked.

Set Up Your First Flow

Flows turn data into action. Navigate to the Flows tab in the web app:
  1. Create New: Click “New Flow” and name it.
  2. Add Steps: Mix automated emails, call tasks, and LinkedIn tasks.
  3. Link Audience (Optional): Tie the flow to a saved list or dynamic segment.
  4. Add Signals (Optional): Trigger flows automatically based on events (e.g., “New Funding”).
  5. Publish: Save and publish to start enrolling prospects.

Execute & Approve

Once a flow is live, you manage the output via Action Plans.

Approval Tasks

If a step requires approval, you will get a task. Review the AI-drafted content, make edits, and click Approve to send.

Reply Detection

If a prospect replies, we automatically pause the flow for that person so you can take over manually.

Manual Tasks

For calls or LinkedIn DMs, we create a task with a suggested script. Complete the action, then mark as Done.

Tracking

Monitor open rates, replies, and flow progress in the Tasks & Follow-Ups section.
