Signals are event-driven sources for FirstTouch flows. Instead of starting from a saved contact list, a signal-based flow starts from tracked activity such as website visits or LinkedIn engagement.
Signals are available to Team Admins. Signals are a source type in FirstTouch, alongside Audiences. A signal flow enrolls contacts when matching signal events are available.

Signal Types

Website Visitors

When enabled for your team, install the FirstTouch tracking pixel, publish it on your website, and verify that visitor tracking is live.

Social Engagement

Monitor LinkedIn person profiles and company pages, then use captured likes and comments as outreach signals.

What You See On The Signals Page

Open Signals in FirstTouch at https://app.firsttouch.ai/signals. The Signals page shows a table with:
  • Name
  • Connected flow
  • Enabled
  • Configure
If a flow is linked, the Connected flow column opens that flow in Flow Builder.

Configure A Signal

Select a signal row to open its right-side drawer. The drawer changes based on the signal type. For Website Visitors, use the drawer to:
  • copy your team’s tracking script
  • install the script in your website’s <head>
  • click Verify script after the site is published

  • add LinkedIn person profile or company page URLs
  • review monitored URL connection status
  • open captured likes, comments, and unique engagers

Enable Or Disable Signals

When a signal is unlocked, you can turn it on or off from the Enabled column.
  • Turning a signal on allows new matching events to be used by its linked flow.
  • Turning a signal off stops new signal-driven intake for that signal.
The setting persists after refresh.
Enabling a signal does not guarantee outreach. The linked flow still needs to be valid, published, and able to process new enrollments.

Locked Signals

Some teams may see locked signals instead of toggles. When a signal is locked:
  • the Enabled column shows a lock icon
  • the Connected flow column may show -
  • the lock guidance says Contact sales
Lock state is account-dependent. Some teams may see a mix of unlocked and locked signals, while others may see all signals locked.

Signals And Flows

Signals are tied to flows rather than standalone outreach.
  • use the Connected flow column to open the linked flow
  • in Flow Builder, signal-based sources are treated as Contact-level signal
  • signal flows are distinct from audience-based flows
For signal-sourced flows:
  • the flow source is signal-based, not audience-based
  • Flow Builder can show awaiting signal events before enrollment
  • signal event enrollment is handled from the flow, not from the Signals table
  • some signal flows may require you to review and enroll awaiting signal events manually
  • signal events do not always enroll automatically; Manual Mode flows keep matching signal events in Awaiting until you enroll them
