Settings

The Settings/Profile section is where you configure both personal settings and team-wide preferences. It’s often divided into multiple tabs or sub-sections. Key areas under Settings include your profile info, writing style, knowledge base, and account connections.

Profile & Company Info

In this area, you provide basic information about yourself and your company to personalize your outreach. This was likely filled out during onboarding, but you can update it anytime.
  • Your Name: Ensure your first and last name are correct. The AI might use your name in introductions or signatures.
  • Company Name: The name of the company you represent.
  • Company Website: Your company’s website URL.
  • Your Title/Role: (Optional) Your job title, which can be used in email signatures or introductions.
Providing your website URL is particularly useful: First Touch will scrape your website to learn about your business, and it uses that context when generating messages. For example, it might pick up your industry or key value propositions from your site. If your website changes or if you want to refresh the data, you can update this URL to trigger a new scrape.

Writing Style

Writing Style settings let you define how you want the AI to sound when drafting messages on your behalf. Everyone has a different voice – this ensures the AI mimics yours (or your team’s). Here you can adjust things like:
  • Tone and Formality: Do you prefer a friendly, casual tone or a more formal, professional one? You might set sliders or choose presets (e.g. “Warm & Casual” vs. “Corporate & Formal”).
  • Persona/Perspective: Some settings allow you to choose if the style is more consultative, humorous, straightforward, etc.
  • Custom Style Descriptions: In some cases, you can enter a short description of your style in your own words (for example: “I write in a very upbeat, motivational tone and I like to use analogies”). This helps fine-tune the AI’s output.
  • Use of Presets: You may toggle on/off the use of pre-built style presets. If off, the AI might default to a neutral professional tone unless your custom description is provided. All outgoing AI-generated content (emails, LinkedIn messages, etc.) will try to follow these style guidelines so that the messages sound like they came from you. For instance, if you set a very formal style, the AI will avoid contractions and slang; if you choose a casual style, it might open with “Hey” instead of “Hello” and use more friendly language. These settings apply globally to all your messages, but you can always tweak an individual draft if needed. The main goal is consistency and authenticity in your outreach.
