> ## Agent Instructions
> For API operations, fetch https://gateway.firsttouch.ai/api/public/openapi.json for the complete input/output schemas, internal references, and x-mcp-annotations. Endpoint Markdown intentionally omits generated schema fragments. Select /api/public/tools/<tool_name> using the exact underscore-separated name. Send requests to https://gateway.firsttouch.ai; the canonical document currently omits servers. Start at https://docs.firsttouch.com/api-reference/agent-start.md.

# Slack Agent

> Chat with FirstTouch in Slack direct messages using your mapped Team and member permissions.

Send text direct messages to FirstTouch in Slack for conversational setup and product help. Slack Agent conversations are separate from [task notification cards](https://docs.firsttouch.com/WebApp/Slack/Task-Notifications.md).

## Connect Your Team

A Team Admin installs Slack from FirstTouch and explicitly enables member mappings. Follow [Slack installation and member mapping](https://docs.firsttouch.com/WebApp/Slack/Task-Notifications.md#connect-slack-and-enable-members).

There is no additional FirstTouch plan or Seat Type restriction for Slack access. Normal action permissions, entitlement, and Connected Account requirements still apply. A member mapping does not grant extra authority.

## Start and Continue a Conversation

Send a text direct message to FirstTouch. Each new top-level message starts an independent conversation thread; reply in that thread to keep its context.

| Enabled mappings | What happens |
| - | - |
| One FirstTouch Team | The Team is selected automatically. |
| Several FirstTouch Teams | Choose a Team in the thread. |
| None | Ask a Team Admin to enable your mapping. |

Only the user who started the conversation can contribute instructions. Channel mentions, uploaded files, message edits, and message deletions are not supported conversational input. Replying to a task notification does not turn its history into an agent conversation.

## Requests and Progress

Responses can stream with tool-progress updates. Suggested-reply buttons send requests in the same conversation under the same member and Team checks.

Available operations depend on the tools and permissions in that context. Do not assume the agent is draft-only or always asks for confirmation before every change. Review important results in FirstTouch.

Chatting with the Slack agent does not consume FirstTouch credits. Requested actions can consume credits under their normal pricing; see [Billing](https://docs.firsttouch.com/WebApp/Billing.md).

## Stop and Uncertain Outcomes

**Stop** requests cancellation; it does not undo completed changes. Earlier queued requests can be suppressed while later messages can continue the conversation.

If a tool outcome is uncertain, check the affected FirstTouch records before acknowledging the outcome as the conversation owner. Acknowledgement clears that uncertainty without replaying the tool action. Avoid repeatedly submitting a request when its result is unclear.

## Mapping Changes and Troubleshooting

Existing conversations retain their original member and Team binding. After remapping, reconnecting, or reinstalling, start a new top-level direct message rather than reusing an older thread.

If the agent does not respond:

* Use a text direct message, not a channel mention or file upload.
* Ask an Admin to check your enabled member mapping.
* Complete Team selection if shown.
* Check for an uncertain-outcome acknowledgement request.
* If permissions need updating, ask an Admin to use **Reconnect** in FirstTouch's Slack integration settings, then start a new thread.

See [Slack Task Notifications](https://docs.firsttouch.com/WebApp/Slack/Task-Notifications.md) for shared connection recovery and [Roles and Permissions](https://docs.firsttouch.com/WebApp/Roles-and-Permissions.md) for normal product permissions.
