> ## Agent Instructions
> For API operations, fetch https://gateway.firsttouch.ai/api/public/openapi.json for the complete input/output schemas, internal references, and x-mcp-annotations. Endpoint Markdown intentionally omits generated schema fragments. Select /api/public/tools/<tool_name> using the exact underscore-separated name. Send requests to https://gateway.firsttouch.ai; the canonical document currently omits servers. Start at https://docs.firsttouch.com/api-reference/agent-start.md.

# Onboarding Agent

> Get setup and product help, manage agent chats, and recover interrupted responses.

Use the **Onboarding agent** for conversational help with FirstTouch setup and product usage. Existing users can use it too; it is not limited to signup.

## Open the Agent

Select **Onboarding agent** near the bottom of the app sidebar, under **Ask about setup or usage**.

* On desktop, resize the panel beside the app or expand it to full screen.
* On smaller screens, the agent opens in a drawer.
* The panel is not displayed inside Flow Builder. Leave Flow Builder to use the sidebar entry.

## Access and Permissions

Signed-in users can open chat on Free, active-trial, or paid Teams, with either Team Role and either Seat Type. Chat visibility does not grant permission to perform every action.

Requests use your Active Team context. Normal Team Role, Seat Type, plan, Connected Account, and action-specific requirements still apply. See [Roles and Permissions](https://docs.firsttouch.com/WebApp/Roles-and-Permissions.md).

Chatting with the Onboarding agent does not consume FirstTouch credits. Requested actions can consume credits under their normal pricing; see [Billing](https://docs.firsttouch.com/WebApp/Billing.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> Do not assume the agent is draft-only or always asks for confirmation before every change. Review the requested work and check important results in FirstTouch.

## Ask for Help

Starter suggestions cover setup, finding leads, creating outreach, and checking outreach performance. Describe your goal, targeting criteria, desired outreach, or setup problem. Non-trial Free Teams receive plan and help suggestions instead of the normal outreach starters.

**Enter** sends a message; **Shift+Enter** inserts a new line. Clicking a suggested prompt or reply sends it immediately. You can prepare a draft while the agent responds, but cannot send another request until the response finishes.

Available operations depend on the current tools and permissions. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, so review it before use.

## Guided Setup and the Checklist

Direct-signup guided setup can open an agent conversation after profile onboarding. This is not an every-login experience and does not apply identically to invited users.

The Dashboard checklist remains separate. Admin steps include **Connect LinkedIn**, **Connect HubSpot (optional)**, and **Create your first Flow**. **Skip for now** marks an available step as reviewed, not as successfully connected or launched. A skip can be undone.

View-only users bypass sender-account checklist onboarding without losing chat visibility. See [Setup](https://docs.firsttouch.com/getting-started/setup/setup.md).

## Chats and Team Context

Use **New chat** to start another conversation and **Chats history** to reopen one. **More chats** and older-message controls load additional history; empty sessions do not appear in the history list.

Closing the panel does not delete a chat. **Delete chat** requires confirmation, is presented as permanent, and is unavailable during active or unresolved work. It is not Team or account deletion.

Switching users or the Active Team resets the visible chat context and reloads the applicable conversation. Check the Active Team before requesting work.

## Interrupted Responses and Support

Activity details can show **Running**, **Completed**, **Tool returned an error**, or **Result unavailable**. An interrupted connection can recover the existing run rather than resend your request.

* If guided startup fails, the checklist remains available with **Try again**.
* Review interruption warnings and the available **Continue** action.
* Check affected Flow Plans, Tasks, Activities, or other records before repeating a request that could make changes.
* **Stop response** requests that generation stop; it does not undo completed changes and can itself fail.

The agent is separate from human support chat. Where support chat is available, close the desktop agent panel to restore the support bubble.
