# Audiences

> Create, manage, sync, and use audience lists in First Touch.

<Note>
  An audience is a saved group of contacts used as a source for outreach.
</Note>

## Create An Audience

First Touch currently supports two audience creation flows from the Audiences page.

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="From CSV" icon="file-csv" color="#3c5d29">
    Upload a CSV, map the columns, then either <b>Save audience</b> or <b>Create flow</b>.
  </Card>

  <Card title="From HubSpot Segment" icon="hubspot" color="#3c5d29">
    Select one HubSpot list, preview the contacts, then either <b>Save audience</b> or <b>Create flow</b>.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

Some audiences can also be created or populated from other First Touch surfaces, such as Sales Navigator imports or adding a prospect from the Chrome extension.

### CSV Notes

* CSV upload supports up to `1,000` records.
* The upload area also enforces a `1 MB` file limit.
* If some rows are invalid, First Touch can still let you create the audience or flow from valid rows only.

### AI Context

You can add optional AI context when creating CSV or HubSpot audiences.

Use this field to describe the audience clearly so messaging can be tailored more accurately.

## Use Audiences With Flows

From the Audiences table, an audience can be:

* attached to an existing flow with <b>Enroll in flow</b>
* used to create a new flow with <b>Create flow</b>
* viewed from the linked flow name when a flow is already attached

Depending on the audience and flow settings, contacts may enroll automatically, wait in an awaiting state, or require manual enrollment from the flow.

## What You See In The Table

The Audiences table includes:

* `Name`
* `Source`
* `Size`
* `Flow`
* `Last modified`

For audiences without a linked flow, the Flow column shows <b>Enroll in flow</b>.

## Filters

### Statuses

The status filter currently includes:

* `Active`
* `Sync in progress`
* `Failed`

### Types

The type filter currently includes:

* `HubSpot list`
* `Uploaded via CSV`
* `Created manually`
* `Sales navigator`
* `System created`

## Sync And Statuses

HubSpot audiences can show these sync states:

* `Sync queued`
* `Sync in progress`
* `Failed`

HubSpot audience details also show `Last sync`.

<Note>
  HubSpot lists update automatically once a day. Right after creating a HubSpot audience, the row may briefly show `Sync in progress` and a size of `0` until the first sync finishes.
</Note>

Sales Navigator audiences can show import-specific states such as:

* `Import pending`
* `Import queued`
* `Import in progress`
* `Import paused`
* `Import failed`

## Audience Actions

Available actions may include:

* `View audience details`
* `Edit audience` or `Rename`
* `Export to CSV`
* `Sync` for HubSpot audiences
* `Delete audience`

From audience details, users can also:

* view AI context
* review contact rows
* export the audience to CSV
* open the linked flow

## Other Audience Types

You may also see audience types that are not created from the main Audiences create menu.

### Sales Navigator

Sales Navigator audiences can include a source URL, linked social account, and import progress states.

### System Created

System created audiences appear in filters and may have restricted actions such as disabled delete or rename behavior.

## Exclusion Lists

Exclusion lists are still enforced when prospects move into outreach. If a contact email or company domain is excluded, First Touch blocks that prospect from progressing.

Deleting an audience does not undo outreach that already happened. Active flow enrollments may need to be canceled separately.
